More Than a Welding Shop - Annual Veteran Hunting Event
While we don't do anything philanthropic for the notoriety it still means a lot to us to share with our community of supporters the work we do professionally and personally within the community. For the last 8 years, we have been honored to participate with Military Warriors Support Foundation Skills 4 Life Division, in an annual hunting weekend hosted specially for combat-wounded veterans.
This year was particularly special as it became the inaugural Danny Robertson Memorial Hunt. Danny was a founding member of this event back in its infancy and managed Chimney Creek Ranch.
We hosted four wounded combat veterans and supplied them with everything they needed; from gear to supplies.
Hunting guides included Buddy Thompson, Lane Jones, Bob Self, and Shane Swinford. If you're a customer or supporter of Dark Horse Metal Works, then you are aware that Bob and Shane are a part of the welding team here.
This post is just to recognize the great work Military Warriors Support Foundation continues to provide and share our gratitude as this event was a collaborative effort with many supporters and donors who we could not have done it without.
Special thank you to Bruce Sanderson and Sanderson Ranch for opening up his ranch and lodging to host the hunting trip. Thank you to Will Nance who built 6 homemade knives that were paid for and donated by Plains Pump. Additionally, we send our gratitude to the following sponsors and individuals who provided support in a variety of capacities:
